Our Ripe Tuo Cha Chrysanthemum Pu'erh is made of ripe pu’erh tea leaves and delicate chrysanthemum petals that are individually compressed and wrapped in a single serving. This adorable mini Tuo Cha is produced in Yunnan province.

Ripe pu’erh is known to be full-bodied with notes of dark molasses, earth, and cocoa. It is fermented just enough to remove the bitterness of a raw pu’erh while preserving the stimulating cha qi of a raw pu’erh! When infused with water, the bowl loses its form and infuses the liquid into a rich soothing elixir.

Chrysanthemum tea is widely used traditionally in Chinese medicine. It is great for skin health, it is anti-inflammatory, is a natural detox for the liver, aids in the relief of a sore throat and headaches among other health benefits.

Once you unwrap your mini tuo cha, you will see flecks of pale yellow chrysanthemum petals woven throughout. Its aroma is very earthy, with a slight woodsy-floral scent. The rich tea liquor has a wonderful earthy, smoked-savory broth aroma. Its flavor is rich with a smooth, earthy and savory-sweet taste with a very present woodsy floral chrysanthemum note throughout.

Packaged in a perfect portion, this rose-scented ripe pu'erh is beautifully presented - a single whole rosebud and some petals embedded in the familiar tuo cha shape. The pieces of tea leaf were somewhat small, so you may find a few leaf bits in your cup.
Brewed gongfu style in about ~150mL of water, it provided four flavourful servings and could likely make a few more.
It has the typical earthy aroma associated with pu'erh with a light floral rose scent and a faint hint of chocolate or carob. It was easy to drink and very enjoyable.

Ripe Tuo Cha Rose Pu’erh is a lovely tuo cha. Once you unwrap the delicate gold-wrapped nugget, it unfolds to a chocolate truffle-like beautiful rosebud topped pack- not only is it beautiful, but it tastes wonderful as well.

Ripe pu'erh is earthy and has a strong taste, so the rose isn't strong but it is definitely present. I highly recommend it!
