Description
Oriental Beauty Oolong – Honeyed, Muscatel Bug-Bitten OolongOriental Beauty Oolong is crafted from Jinxuan cultivar leaves grown on Mount Dahei, a national forest reserve in Yunnan Province in China's beautiful southwest. This tea is quite unique: early in the season, tiny leafhoppers arrive in the tea garden and, over about three weeks, partially nibble the leaves, triggering natural oxidation while the leaves are still growing. Oriental Beauty is oxidized to more than 60%, achieved through a long period of cool temperatures and a careful, complex withering and leaf-processing method. A triple roasting then draws out its sweet honey-like notes and complex depth. These natural conditions and traditional techniques create the tea's signature honey and muscatel character.
